Sale Alert—Drake’s Archive Open Until Monday

Drake’s has once again begun their archive sale, open until Monday, Jan. 17 at midnight EST time America. Used to be there were normal seasonal sales, then once in a great while Drake’s would hold an archive sale with wild discounts on previous season’s stuff. It was exciting and rare.

Now it seems like the archive sales are simply their way of doing seasonal sales.

That doesn’t make them less noteworthy, though. There are summer pieces in the archive sale that are no longer on drakes.com, discounted at 60%. That’s pretty great.

Here are a few pieces I’m liking the looks of on the archive.

Quite a few tailored pieces that I actually think are great. I am a fan of Drake’s tailoring because it’s comfortable, unstructured and less in-your-face than some of the more Italian brands I like to wear myself.

My two favorite items from this sale:

Mid-blue linen-silk herringbone navy blazer

Linen indigo artists’ chore coat (I love that there are no collar leafs, just the collar band, and I dig how “extra” the front toggles are. This would age beautifully too)

The Staple OCBD

Regular fit OCBDs (if their sleeve lengths were just a little longer for my frame, I’d be so tempted to stock up)

The wool-cashmere turtleneck

Wool-cashmere turtleneck (navy is probably my choice because I’m predictable)

Espadrilles in suede

Mocha suede espadrilles (espadrilles in suede are not an item I’d buy because they wear out almost seasonally; but for $55 I’d totally buy a pair in mocha)

Linen suit separates

Sand linen jacket | sand linen trousers

Navy linen jacket | dark blue linen trousers (these are listed in the “wear it with” recommendations under the jacket but I’m not certain they’re the same color navy. So find out from Drake’s maybe via their Instagram DMs or contact email if they’re the same)

Olive linen jacket | olive linen trousers

Dark brown linen jacket | dark brown linen trousers (this is similar in darkness and hue to my chocolate summer blazer, which is also a suiting separate; it’s a very versatile second color for a jacket after navy)

Sportcoats

Ecru linen-silk herringbone jacket (same fabric composition as the mid-blue that’s my favorite linked above, but in ecru. This is similar in color to my tan summer jacket)

Taupe houndstooth sportcoat (houndstooth and shepherd’s check jackets are both more versatile than often given credit for. This would be a great tan summer sportcoat with a twist, but not too out-there compared to mine or the herringbone ecru one)

Taupe houndstooth with green overcheck linen-silk sportcoat

How to Wear a Scarf (In a Non-Pretentious Way)

It might sound a little silly to have a post about how to wear a scarf, given that…

  1. I feel so dumb for missing this sale. The linen artist chore coat is exactly my thing, too! Hoping it comes around again sooner than later. Thanks for the heads up regardless. Loving your posts, esp as I’ve been getting interested in more tailored wear recently.
