My Faves From Proper Cloth Fall-Winter 2025

I’ve been a Proper Cloth customer for 11 years now. Some things don’t change—their custom shirts remain the bedrock of their collections, and are still quite a good option particularly if you value a good user experience from the website to the design options to the turnaround time, and/or if your body requires a custom fit.

I’ve been a partner of theirs for a couple years now (use my code MUSINGS10 for a discount, which may stack with their upcoming Black Friday promotion, I don’t know yet), so they sent me a few pieces from their fall/winter collection, and quite by accident the pieces I chose turned out to make a perfect outfit all together:

Here are the MVPs of the collection this season as far as I’m concerned:

My top favorite: The “Akita” off-white jeans above.

I perfected my pants fit at Proper Cloth (just the right rise, just the right thigh, just the right knee and hem open…), so at this point I’m basically looking at their casual pants and waiting for new and better options. Off-white jeans are my all-time most worn and favorite piece of clothing, but lately I’ve had trouble finding ones that fit me just the way I wanted (Buck Mason’s Ford is probably the best I’ve tried, though they are not in stock at the moment; Gustin’s vintage straight fit off-white denim run recently was great, too).

The turtleneck is soft and wonderful. It’s a stocked product, not custom, so it ships super quick.

The chore jacket is not customizable in sizing, but is a made-to-order product so it takes a bit of time to deliver (like 3 weeks). I wish the sleeves were longer for my build. I’m wearing size L.

The belt is also Proper Cloth. For a daily driver belt, it’s good, but I’d still recommend Sid Mashburn’s belts first for a similar price.

I also ordered a pair of fatigue pants. I have a pair from Proper Cloth with a different fabric from a year or two ago and they’re like my second most worn pair of pants, week in, week out. This fabric is even better than those (and I updated the fit to be better on me).

My favorite dress shirt from Proper Cloth continues to be the one I had made from Thomas Mason’s goldline blue end-on-end, using their soft or lightly fused Roma cutaway collar, rounded long one-button cuff and french placket. I’ve begun adding monograms to my shirts at the left stomach because why the hell not.
