New At No Man Walks Alone: DoppiaA

No Man Walks Alone has added a new label to their line-up that’s caught my eye—DoppiaA.

Founded by two Italian friends Alain Fracassi and Alberto Carreras, the label uses color and fabric to make contemporary Italian clothing that feels fresh and exciting.

I was already intrigued when Antonio Ciongoli posted on Styleforum that Alain Fracassi has an eye for color and texture that is unrivaled, and that he (Antonio) had references for Alain’s work going back even before Eidos. Seeing as Antonio’s eye for texture and color in cloth is the best I’ve witnessed, it made me all the more intrigued by the brand.

In NMWA’s first collection of theirs is a well rounded capsule of the brand from top to bottom: a selection of scarves, knitwear, one sport coat (totally unlined and unstructured), a couple of shirts, a couple pairs of casual cotton trousers and a pair of field jackets. The button-up shirts are a little out there for me stylistically (Italian-made Southwest-style prints? Not sure when I’d wear that. Although we are planning a trip to New Mexico in the Spring…). What I’m most interested in will be their outerwear, knitwear and trousers.

Scope out the first collection NMWA is carrying here.

Spier & Mackay Brings the Fire for Fall

I’ve written a lot—probably too much—about Spier & Mackay, so I’ve waited to post about their new arrivals.…

    1. No word yet, but I haven’t followed up with him yet either (his delivery for the first season was delayed a bunch so I’m guessing he just wanted to get it up for sale and let it be out there for a while before sending me one on loan for a week, tying up inventory). My hope is to work something out with Greg for a one-week loaner in late October/early November.
