The Road to Pitti 105

I’m en route to Florence for Pitti Uomo 105!

For some, the January editions of Pitti are the most interesting for the same reason fall and winter are beloved in menswear circles: layers! Coats, scarves, tweed, boots, flannel!

The June edition, meanwhile, is hot, Florence is loaded with tourists, and milling about outside to look cool for photos is much too uncomfortable.

I love them both for different reasons. The fun of the cold seasonal clothing is a big draw; yet the late sunsets and never-ending nighttime shenanigans in summer are memorable as well.

This time I’ll be doing all the usual Pitti activities I’ve done the last several times I’ve gone.

  • Street style photos
  • One-on-one improv interviews
  • Coverage of brands/makers at the fair
  • Video and updates about my personal shenanigans

This time I have a guest on my ticket into the fair, who will be an extra set of hands and a second perspective on things: Gus Walbolt. He and his wife decided to come to the fair and so he’s on my ticket as a member of the press to get the full experience.
