The girlfriend of one of my friends asked him what his preferences are when it comes to camping. He replied that while he can make a lean-to, and has done multi-day camping excursions deep into the wilderness, his ideal camping experience is sitting by the fire with a good beverage, looking out the window to see nature when he wants to, and watching a spooky movie.
Which of course resulted in us making plans to get together and watch Sleepy Hollow 🤠
Looking ahead on the weather forecast, it appears the fever of summer heat is about to break, with cooler nights foreshadowing the glorious fall weather we’re all so desperate for. And it’s in this moment, where our yearning is strongest, but it’s still warm enough for an afternoon by the pool, when I realized this may be the best time of year—when the idea of Fall grips our hearts with its imminent flood of pumpkin spiced drinks and flannel trousers, but the skies are still sunny and we don’t have to stomp through rain puddles everyday.
