Spier & Mackay is running a sale on made to order jackets/suits specifically made with Marling & Evans cloth until Friday, May 21 at midnight EDT. There are some really great fabrics in the bunch, and I’m going to highlight three I think are particularly terrific.

1- Brown windowpane winter-weight tweed

I have a jacket in this exact cloth, from maker Natalino, which I reviewed and then purchased last winter. It’s a really versatile jacket that I got a ton of wear out of during the cold months. See a photo of it at the bottom of this post.

2- Medium blue wool/linen hopsack

I keep seeing this cloth pop up by other makers and the more I see it, the more I’m convinced I have to get a jacket made with it. I’ve seen it made by Orazio Luciano for the Armoury, and Carrara for No Man Walks Alone (now sold out). It looks like a really gorgeous warm weather navy blazer.

3- Sand wool/linen hopsack

In the same 50/50 wool/linen blend as the blue above, this color looks like an excellent candidate to fulfill my dream for the perfect tan summer sport coat.

Spier’s sale lasts til Friday, May 21 at midnight.
