My favorite go-to trousers in the cold weather are flannel trousers, just as my go-to trousers in the summer are cotton-linen ones.
Flat front normal rise
Spier & Mackay, which makes my favorite fitting and most affordable trousers in quality fabrics, has dropped four colors of their flannels in their standard flat-front fits:
Charcoal |Mid-gray | Light gray | Cream | Mid-brown.
Get the two grays if you don’t have any yet. The cream, though, is seriously calling my name.
Single pleat higher rise
They’ve also dropped several pairs in their higher rise, single pleat model, if that’s your jam. I prefer the side tabs these trousers have to the belt loops on the standard model, as I like to size them snug in the waist and wear them without a belt. But of course, I prefer flat front over pleats.
