Maybe I’m naive but arctic fox is not a fiber on my bingo card. But Mauro Farinelli says it’s a crazy good fiber, and the animals are petted and played with all day while their fur coats can be shorn for sweaters. His brand, Wolf vs Goat, doesn’t own its own mills, but sources the best fibers from the best mills. For some of the fibers he sources, he isn’t allowed to share their trade names, because the mill prefers to keep those names for its own use to create an air of exclusivity. But the nice thing is, you can trust Mauro’s selections, so even if you don’t know the trade name of its uber-soft crewneck, if he says it’s amazing, you know it will be.

Actually they have published some posts describing the benefits of the interesting fibers they source here. So arctic fox, camel, tanuka (aka asiatic raccoon, but it’s a dog not a racoon), yak.

The brand operates on a drop model, meaning instead of having a big fall/winter collection that’s released in a short period of time from August through September, he drops a handful of products periodically throughout the year.

I did a few videos showing 3 of the sweaters, and can recommend them all. I expect the crewneck will get the most wear in public, while the shawl cardigan will get the most wear at home. I’d say as far as shawl collar cardigans go, its shorter length is less than idea, but that may be better for you depending on your height.

Shop all his knits here. And I also want to call out his rewards program—it sounds like something I’d normally skip, but it’s actually a shockingly good deal. Pay $10 for a month’s subscription and get 50% off everything you buy. At the 50% off price, it’s a shocking good deal for these quality of goods.
