A Few Memorial Day Sales I’m Paying Attention To

It’s the official kick-off of summer here in the United States, with Memorial Day weekend. Lots of shops hold special sales for the weekend, so here are a few I’m paying attention to (except for Lowe’s 5 bags of mulch for $10, which I’m definitely interested in).

(Help support this site by buying stuff through my links; your clicks and purchases earn me a commission from many of the retailers I feature, and it helps me sustain this site—as well as my menswear habit! Thanks!)

Beckett Simonon: Two Pairs for $299 using code MEMORIAL (until their factory reaches capacity)

My “Durant” Adelaides have become my favorite calf leather dress shoes. They beautiful and comfortable. If you can swing $300, getting two pairs is such a good deal on these. I have no idea if you can stack my special 20% discount code MM20 on top of this, but even if not it’s a fantastic deal. I’d grab the Durants (or their special limited-time Reyes, which is also very attractive) and a pair of boots, maybe, like the Douglas jodhpur.

Spier & Mackay: $50 off full price suits and sport coats, $30 off full price trousers, $15 off dress shirts when you buy 3+

Good time to pick up all the beautiful suits I have been recommending: the Solaro suit (my fave this season I think), the Tobacco Linen suit, the newer Cigar linen separates (unbelievable price on that one); plus their summer trousers (my favorites being cotton-linen); the new washed denim shirts as well as the cotton-linen blend dress shirts. Check my Menswear Musings Recommends page for all the posts I wrote about Spier’s spring offerings for more links.

Oak Street Bootmakers: Up to 40% off everything

My favorite canoe/camp moccasins are 20% off.

Polo Ralph Lauren: Up to 40% off with code MEMDAY

Todd Snyder: 15% off $200, 20% off $500, 30% off $800

Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale

So much to choose from but what I’m specifically digging is this suede belt from Allen Edmonds and the Levi’s x Justin Timberlake white jeans.

Barney’s

The new Eidos under Simon Spurr is all they sell now, but there are a few things I actually like, specifically this nautical stripe drop-shoulder sweater in raspberry, this horizontal stripe faded red cotton-linen button up, and this cotton-linen comfortable-looking crewneck sweater.

Brooks Brothers

Four dress shirts for $199 (though it excludes their Oxford shirts sadly). But the extra 25% off sale stuff is what I’m looking at. Most of those great shoes I linked to a few months ago are gone but these calf leather tassel loafers are still hanging around in most sizes, and if you’re 10.5 D these other tassels are still up too. This rugby polo caught my eye, too.

J.Crew: Extra 50% off sale, 40% off everything else with code WEEKEND

How the mighty have fallen. Extra 40% off is a joke but extra 50% is just sad. That said, my favorite swim trunks (their “pool short”) are $41 with this discount. But their better, more attractive Wallace & Barnes line has some cool stuff like this duck canvas chore jacket, this cotton-linen indigo work shirt, and this olive military over shirt. And hey, you know what, you could do worse than this light wash denim shirt or this staple navy blazer.

SuitSupply’s Excellent Hidden-in-Plain Sight Jort Line

[UPDATE 4/10/2020: This exact jacket is in the SuitSupply outlet for $350, half off. Here is the link.…
