I combed through some of Ralph’s goodies and present you with my picks. Given that their men’s collection is 2,500+ products right now, I’m sure I missed one or two excellent ones, but what I did find is really good.
Their Black Friday promotion has begun when shopped in their phone app (today, Nov 25, til midnight) and means 30% off select items.
Generally speaking I love Ralph’s knitwear and outerwear best; their button-up shirts are OK (I prefer Sid’s or Proper Cloth). Their tailoring is impeccable, though I haven’t loved the shorter jacket lengths for several years (I think the shortest days are over).
Here are my picks…
Shawl barathea tuxedo (remember folks, tuxedos are party clothes intended to be worn to fun events)
Double breasted “doeskin” blazer (I owned one of these from ’94 or so and it’s an all time classic)
Glen plaid wool suit (I have a suit like this from Spier & Mackay and it’s unbelievably satisfying to wear)
Shawl collar wool-alpaca cardigan (I love the textural details)
Shearing trucker (I am haunted by a suede shearling lined bomber from Billy Reid I tried on 10 years ago or so that I had no business buying, but wish I had anyway)
Wool barathea tuxedo DB jacket
Flat-front wool flannel trousers
RL67 jacket (this is probably their coolest sportcoat model of the last few years)
Wool DB ulster-y coat (it’s bewildering to me they call this a car coat)
Herringbone jacket (less out-there than the RL67 jacket but still a killer fabric)
Camel polo coat (one day I will get one of these)
Button-front cardigan (regular cardigans don’t do it for me, but ones that button all the way up with a standing collar I can get behind)
Suede trucker jacket (suede truckers are a luxe upgrade to a workwear piece, and this olive color is more subtle than a lighter color suede, making it a bit more wearable)
Padded corduroy vest (I have a tweed padded vest and found it more wearable than I expected, particularly over knitwear, such as a wool polo sweater)
Cream wool-cashmere cable knit turtleneck (I love this so much. One time I got a used sweater just like this on eBay, but I think the seller had washed it and shrunk it, so I had to send it back)
