Good comments on dressing for Pitti. Guys who attend where every item of clothing and accessory is chosen to make an obvious impression becomes so boring and tiring. I think an outfit with a great fit of classic pieces and perhaps one item of personal expression is all you need to show you have style (and, shoes that are appropriate for your look). One of my favorite looks at Pitti in January was the owner of Fedeli wearing perfectly fitting white jeans and an orange cashmere crewneck sweater (one of his brand of course). He looked smart, sporty, comfortable and had a splash of color. Simple perfect look!
I agree. The good photographers can spot an immaculate outfit that isn’t flashy. The guys going way overboard are tiresome to me as well. This is why the Japanese are so easy to photograph—they almost always have the perfectly proportioned fits with just the right accessories, etc. that look great but not trying too hard.
